EG Bank (Egyptian Gulf Bank), a commercial banking platform based in Egypt, has entered a strategic partnership with Mastercard, aimed at reshaping the digital payments landscape across Egypt.

The partnership is a core pillar of EG Bank’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position in Egypt’s dynamic FinTech ecosystem. The collaboration will see Mastercard provide end-to-end support for the enhancement of EG Bank’s debit, credit, and commercial card portfolio. These upgraded offerings are designed to deliver personalised financial solutions, enriched with exclusive benefits and superior digital experiences.

With an emphasis on innovation and accessibility, the partnership seeks to empower individual clients, SMEs, and corporates alike by broadening access to next-generation digital services. Through an expanded suite of digital banking tools, including advanced mobile and internet banking platforms, customers will be able to manage their finances securely and conveniently, from anywhere, at any time.

By joining forces, EG Bank and Mastercard are setting the stage for broader financial empowerment and accelerating the adoption of digital payments in Egypt. The initiative is especially geared toward serving high-value segments while also unlocking opportunities to bank the under- and unbanked population.

Mohamed Assem, Country Manager for Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon at Mastercard said, “This collaboration underscores our joint commitment to driving the growth of the digital payment ecosystem, unlocking new opportunities for sustainable financial empowerment”.

The upgraded product suite will feature enhanced security, smarter transaction capabilities, and differentiated rewards, reinforcing customer trust while elevating user engagement. The initiative also supports Egypt’s national vision for a cashless economy and greater financial inclusion.

Yasmeen Galal, Head of Consumer Banking and SMEs at EG Bank, said, “Our partnership with Mastercard is a pivotal milestone in our digital-first transformation journey. It enables us to introduce a broader, more sophisticated portfolio of solutions that meet the aspirations of today’s digital-savvy consumers and businesses.”
